Out of the many projects that i had seen, i picked a couple of students and their projects to interview and see how their project came together.
Here are two kids, their projects, and what they have to say. (I have given each project a nickname of its own)
1. “Rainbow Road”
As you can see in the picture, there are rainbows! This bridge was created by Mohit. He had explained to me that his family had helped him create the project, the fasteners he used were hot glue AND his structure is indeed stable! “My favourite part would be all the rainbows,” he went on to say, “The purpose of the bridge is to get one car to the other side without harming anything on the bottom.” I continues to ask questions, and from what i heard, this bridge could go over a large body of water or a jungle as well.
2. Sit and Stand!
The next person i had spoken to was a little girl named Gabby. What she had created was a stable stool! I like to call this, the Sit and Stand! Although this seems small, it's durable and strong! I sat on it and along with a couple of other students, some even stood and i can easily say it was as stable as a table! I asked Gabby what made it so stable and she said that triangles help make the joints stronger. With a great project comes favourite parts. Gabby explained that her favourite part was painting it and not only that, her favourite flowers are the teal and pink ones! She hadn't created this project by herself, her parents helped her build it.
We can visibly see the immense talent and creativity shining out of all the grade one's. The projects they had presented to us were great, each had its own purpose, each had a different way to look at it, and each had its own creativity and uniqueness given to them. Which now concludes my news article, I want to thank the grade one's for presenting such beautiful and well thought of projects and their teachers for helping putting it together.
