The
concept behind Ian rushing to Oswald rather than to Julia is because it’s easy
to tell that Oswald will listen and understand what Ian is saying whereas Julia
would take it as a jab to stop the uniforms. Ian was probably keeping this in
mind as he discovered the fiasco with the brand. Although we know that Oswald is

he went with Oswald because the both of them see what’s at fault. This is
showed in the book, when Ian and Julia were arguing and it was the debate on
why uniforms were such a big deal. I believe Ian exclaimed about how it wasn’t a
big deal when there are children working for pennies and nothing is being done.
“People make a big deal out of nothing and make nothing of a big deal.” Mr.
